Oscars 2025: Adrien Brody, Mikey Madison win top acting awards

“Anora,” which tells the story of the tumultuous elopement of a sex worker and the son of a Russian oligarch, is the biggest winner of the 97th Academy Awards — or the Oscars — on March 2 (morning of March 3 in the Philippines) at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

The Sean Baker-helmed film was the runaway winner of Hollywood’s biggest night after winning four awards including Best Picture and Best Actress. Meanwhile, as predicted by critics, Adrien Brody, Kieran Culkin, and Zoe Saldaña emerged as the winners of the Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Supporting Actress, for their performances in “The Brutalist,” “A Real Pain” and “Emilia Perez,” respectively.

Mikey Madison, on the other hand, pulled off an upset from the heavy favorite Demi Moore to win Best Actress for “Anora,” which she noted is a love letter to the sex worker community.
